WHAT DOES IT FUND? The POWER program is aimed at helping eligible entities in the Appalachian region that have been affected by job losses in mining, coal power plant operations, and coal-related supply chain industries. Funding will support efforts to create a more vibrant economic future for coal-impacted communities by cultivating economic diversity, enhancing job training and reemployment opportunities creating jobs in existing or new industries, and attracting new sources of investment. The program funds projects under three components: Implementation Grants, Technical Assistance Grants, and Broadband. Click here for more information.
