The Department of Transportation (DOT) has notified transportation-related committees of Congress which 26 projects it has selected to receive approximately $1.5 billion in grant funding under the Infrastructure for Rebuilding America (INFRA) program. The program is a competitive grant program that was included in the “Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act” (FAST Act) to provide funding for nationally significant highway, bridge, and freight projects. The list of 26 awards are split evenly between urban and rural applicants and are almost exclusively highway projects.

U.S. DOT is required to give the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, and the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee at least 60 days’ notice before a grant is awarded to a project.
