Jeremiah Van Auken is a Senior Associate at TFG. In this role, Jeremiah will support the appropriations and legislative needs of TFG’s clientele at the federal level.
Previously, Jeremiah worked as a Senior Associate at Alcalde & Fay, where he supported several partners on over fifteen clients ranging from local governments to university healthcare research centers. During his 2.5 years at Alcalde & Fay, Jeremiah helped clients secure tens of millions of dollars in programmatic appropriations and Community Project Funding and assisted in extensive congressional outreach to secure those funds. While there, he also began supporting the advocacy efforts of a research and engineering firm, particularly related to their national security portfolio.
Prior to his time at Alcalde & Fay, Jeremiah was a staff assistant on the Senate Appropriations Committee’s Subcommittee on Defense, where he organized and managed the Defense Subcommittee’s Member Request database. He was also regularly involved in scheduling and organizing hearings, as well as supporting the ongoing efforts of the professional staff members on the subcommittee.
Jeremiah was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana, and then attended college at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he received his bachelor’s degree in history. While in Cincinnati, Jeremiah was actively engaged in local politics and interned in City Hall and worked on several local campaigns. During his free time, Jeremiah enjoys trying new restaurants in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of Washington, D.C. and following college basketball.
