Ceylon J. Herath, a political science and public administration professional with local government, public sector, community and economic development, federal grant writing, corporate communications, and litigation experience, joined TFG as a Grants Analyst/Researcher. Ceylon has experience in securing funding for a myriad of grant programs and extended knowledge in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) - Public Works - Infrastructure, Public Works - Facilities, Downtown Revitalization, Public Planning, Tourism Development, Economic Development, Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR), Civic and Community Center Financing Fund (CCCFF), Economic Development Certified Community (EDCC), Economic Development Administration (EDA) & Tourism Grant Program, Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF), Recreational Trails Program (RTP), Federal Lands Access Program (FLAP), Shovel-Ready Capital Recovery & Investment Act, and Rural Broadband programs. In her previous role as a Community Development Specialist, she served as the Recipient Grant Manager and primary financial manager for all CDBG projects. In addition to drafting federal grant applications and administering funding, she has served as a litigation paralegal, executive coordinator, and local government graduate student intern throughout her time in her undergraduate and graduate programs.
Ceylon received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and her Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from Southeast Missouri State University. She is an avid traveler with cultural heritage in Sri Lanka but was born in St. Louis, Missouri. She is currently based in Nebraska.
