The purpose of this program is to implement targeted efforts to address youth violence through implementing evidence-based prevention and intervention efforts in a school-based, K-12 setting. The goals of the program are to reduce the incidence of school violence through improved school safety and climate and prevent youth violence, delinquency, and victimization in the targeted community. WHAT DOES IT FUND? This program seeks to prevent the drowning and drain entrapments of children in pools and spas by providing states and local governments with assistance for prevention education and enforcement of pool safety requirements. Awards may be used to hire and train enforcement personnel for implementation and enforcement of standards under the state or local swimming pool and spa safety law, or to educate pool construction and installation companies, pool service companies, pool owners, pool operators, and other members of the public about safety standards. Click here for more information.
