EPHRAIM-- City Council members approved two new contracts in a July 20 meeting.
A new contract with Dude Solutions to set up and maintain the Ephraim City website for a one-year period until June 30, 2017.
The purpose of the new contract was to especially stream-line the city work-order system, giving a way for city utility workers to access work-orders in real time, and fill out work-order completions on cell phones in real time. The contract calls for Dude Solutions to be paid $11,420 for the fiscal year.
The council also renewed the contract with The Ferguson Group, a Washington, D.C. lobbying firm that specializes in representing small-government organizations to Congress and the Administration.
The primary purpose for which these government agencies employ The Ferguson Group is to seek out new and creative funding for local projects, usually through federal grants. The city will pay the firm $5,000 per month, plus expenses.
In other business, the council authorized execution of an irrigation agreement/easement with Ephraim Irrigation Company; approved the annual Fire Contract with Sanpete County; and lifted the net metering moratorium, first set in place on May 6, 2015.
