Ms. Jennifer Chandler joined The Ferguson Group in 2017 with 18 years of diverse professional experience in executive leadership, environmental management, business development, marketing, fiscal responsibility, and grant management. Ms. Chandler specializes in assisting government and non-profit organizations by providing technical leadership and direction in developing and executing long-term plans and sustainable strategies. With specific experience implementing regional development strategies and building consensus among stakeholders, Ms. Chandler has spearheaded community initiatives in economic development and infrastructure improvements, as well as worked with community leaders to create development strategies and prioritize implementation. Her projects include industrial park development and certification, infrastructure improvement, government asset transition, regional marketing, capacity building, and workforce development.
Ms. Chandler is skilled at public speaking, and has given presentations to community groups, stakeholders, civic organizations, regulatory agencies, state and federal agencies, and elected officials. Her experience includes working with community leaders and facilitating discussions among versatile groups with diverse opinions to achieve consensus in creating development strategies and prioritizing implementation. She coordinated public meetings required by the regulatory requirements for a major federal cleanup project and has prepared educational materials and graphical representations to explain the regulatory decision making process to a citizen’s advisory board and other interested stakeholders.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Ms. Chandler offers a unique combination of education and experience with the ability to work across disciplines. Prior to working for TFG, Ms. Chandler held the positions of executive director for a private non-profit economic development organization, director of a county community development office, business manager for a private corporation in the nuclear industry, and senior regulatory specialist and project manager for an environmental remediation company.
Ms. Chandler successfully works with county, state and federal agencies to secure public financing for new businesses and infrastructure improvements, industrial park certification, job creation tax credits, and multi-year training grants to support economic development. Her projects include preparing a master development plan and securing public and private financing to develop a 700-acre industrial site. The $7.2Million project included a combination of several local, state and federal grants to construct a new access ramp and turn lanes off of a major US highway, interior access roads, water and waste water lines, fire hydrants, and a fire water storage tank. Other economic development projects and initiatives implemented by Ms. Chandler include a business incubator, incumbent workforce training initiatives, numerous infrastructure extension and improvement projects, community facilities, and property transfer requests from the federal government.
